I did not like the look of this bonsai, it was very two dimensional and the stem had no personality. I decided to twist and turn it with no worry about damage. I heard lots of cracks and pops but now the plant has some motion and I have some ideas of what I can do to it, hopefully it survives the stress.
Took the training off and I'm going to see how she recovers. The "S" curve isn't looking as interesting as I'd hoped and she's starting to stretch which I don't love. I love the pot and how well its rooted so I'll continue to train it and see where she goes.
This girl is liking her airy soil a lot. The small pot has stunted her growth a little but I hope to see her stem thicken up as a result. I'm continuing to add movement but I'm not a huge fan of how the stem bends towards the edge of the pot and then the top is centered. I think my plan for her is to have her bend back and forth and at each bending point have a side branch come out with some nice leaves.
She likes her new home! She's rooted nicely in the Akadama, so nicely that I was able to add some movement to the stem. Still no plan for her but for right now I'll add an "S" curve and see how she looksÂ
Put this girl in a bonsai pot filled with 90% Akadama and 10% ocean forest soil. I want to see if cannabis roots can thrive with little soil and lots of drainage and air. No plans yet for her more of an experiment.
